Course
Here is the course map that details the 6- and 11-mile routes.
Both races will take place on the western trails of the Eno River State Park.
The 6- and 11-mile course routes will start and finish near the Piper Cox House and will follow the Buckquarter Creek Trail, Ridge Trail, Shakori Trail, and Holden Mill loop. After Holden Mill loop, runners will then run back along the Ridge Trail to Buckquarter Creek Trail. The 11-mile course continues across the Eno River to the Cox Mountain Trail loop.
The trails at Eno River State Park are some of the most beautiful and challenging in the Triangle area. Both the 6- and 11-mile courses feature technical single track trail with numerous natural obstacles including rocks, roots, trees, uneven ground, and fallen debris. There is a short section of bouldering over rocks where the trail skirts the river. Both distances feature challenging ascents and descents that require careful concentration. The 11-mile distance also includes an unassisted river crossing at Fews Ford.
